Meals
|
- Meals will be made available starting at 11:30 am at your venue tent. Your team escorts are responsible for picking up your meals.
- Ham or Turkey Sandwich, chips, fruit, and a drink.
- If you have athletes with special dietary needs please plan accordingly and have that athlete bring his/her own meal.
|
| |
| H1N1 Precautions |
| All Coaches: Athletes NEED to be told that if they have flu like symptoms, they NEED to stay home. The policing for this should be coaches and/or medical folks/SOMA staff that are around for competitions. This is something that we really need to enforce as school has started and there is an increase in the cases of H1N1 going around. |

About Healthy Athlete Initiatives
|
| Special Olympics Massachusetts is proud to offer two Healthy Athlete Screenings at Fall Tournament this year: Fit Feet (foot care) and Fun Fitness (physical therapy). Healthy Athletes Screenings are a great way to utilize free time teams or athletes may have before, after or between competitions. Each screening takes an average of 30 minutes and involves several interactive and educational stations. In the Fit Feet Screening, athletes will be checked by licensed Podiatrists for common foot conditions that may affect comfort and performance. In the Fun Fitness Screening, Physical Therapists test athletes’ balance, aerobic condition and flexibility. Athletes are welcome to come alone or with their team, and SOMA encourages coaches to make time for these great opportunities to improve athletes’ health and performance. Both screenings are non-invasive, fun, and aimed at helping athletes become fitter, healthier and happier. |
