Dunkin' Donuts Pound of Coffee promotion
In direct support of our local Special Olympics athletes,
coaches, volunteers, families and staff, Dunkin’ Donuts leads an
annual “Pound of Coffee” promotion each November and December in
which Special Olympics receives 25 cents for every pound of
coffee sold in select Bristol County stores in Massachusetts and
Rhode Island. Due to the vast popularity of Dunkin’ Donuts
coffee, especially leading up to the holidays, this model
initiative generates tens of thousands of dollars of much-needed
funds for our local Special Olympics athletes and their teams.
In addition, Dunkin’ Donuts continues to donate its world-famous
coffee, donuts, bagels and other morning essentials for SOMA’s
major events in the Bristol County area. These events include
our recent annual South Section Soccer Assessment Round that
brought 35 teams and 350-plus athletes with intellectual
disabilities to North Attleboro High School for a phenomenal day
of competition and camaraderie.
Dunkin’ Donuts, a supporter of Special Olympics for nearly 20
years, is a member of the SOMA Hall of Fame. “No company in
southeastern Massachusetts matches the level of generosity – and
length of service – that Dunkin’ Donuts delivers in support of
Special Olympics,” said Jay O’Brien, SOMA’s South Section
Director. “Their annual Pound of Coffee promotion is a shining
example of how a great company partners with a great cause in
smart pursuit of a common goal: to improve people’s lives right
here in our local communities. This is true corporate
citizenship at its finest.”
