Starting Saturday, March 6th through April 10th, Special Olympics Massachusetts will be continuing this event and hosting a new six-week Sports Skills Program at the Yawkey Sports Training Center in Marlborough every Saturday. Individual registrations are now open for the following sessions:
- Young Athlete Session 1 – 8:30 am – 9:15 am > Athletes Ages 5-12
- Young Athlete Session 2 – 9:30 am – 10:15 am > Athletes Ages 5-12
- Skills Session 1 – 10:30 am – 11:15 am> Athletes Ages 13+
- Skills Session 2 – 11:30 am – 12:15 pm > Athletes Ages 13+
- Open Recreation Play – 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm > Athletes Ages 13+
Young Athlete and Skills Sessions will focus on individual skills instruction, including basketball as the first sport of focus. The Open Recreation session is where athletes can engage with each other – socially distanced, of course – in a new activity each week (basketball, cornhole, bocce, disc golf, etc.).
Athletes are welcome to register individually for any of these events and do not need to come as part of their team or local program. All athletes must arrive with a parent/coach/chaperone. Spectators are not allowed for this event in the venue and must remain at their car, if an athlete needs a chaperone with them at the venue, please let us know on the registration form.
Special Olympics Massachusetts is in phase three of reopening. All of the updates and return to play protocols can be found on the Return to Play page of our website
. We have limited capacity for this program to ensure that we adhere to current state guidelines, so registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
Weather Updates will be posted on this page the Friday before each session, should we have to cancel a session.
