|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, repeating until June 12, 2021
Starting May 1st, through June 12th, Special Olympics Massachusetts will be hosting a new six-week Sports Skills Program at the Yawkey Sports Training Center in Marlborough every Saturday (excluding May 29th). Individual registrations are now open for the following sessions:
- Young Athlete Session 1 – 9:00 am – 9:45 am > Athletes Ages 6-12
- Young Athlete Session 2 – 10:00 am – 10:45 am > Athletes Ages 6-12
- Skills Session 1 – 11:00 am – 11:45 am> Athletes Ages 13+
- Skills Session 2 – 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm > Athletes Ages 13+
- Open Recreation Play – 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm > Athletes Ages 13+
Young Athlete sessions will focus on the sports of soccer and track and field.
Skills sessions for ages 13+ will focus on track and field, with the option to compete in a local competition on June 12th at Marlboro High School!
The Open Recreation session is where athletes can engage with each other – socially distanced, of course – in a new activity each week based on interest level from the group (cornhole, bocce, basketball, etc.).
Athletes are welcome to register individually for any of these events and do not need to come as part of their team or local program. All athletes must arrive with a parent/coach/chaperone. Spectators are not allowed for this event in the venue and must remain at their car, if an athlete needs a chaperone with them at the venue, please let us know on the registration form.
Special Olympics Massachusetts is in phase 4 of reopening. All of the updates and return to play protocols can be found on the Return to Play page of our website. We have limited capacity for this program to ensure that we adhere to current state guidelines, so registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
