Special Olympics Massachusetts Competitions

Special Olympics Massachusetts offers an array of year-round individual and team sports across the state of Massachusetts during the WinterSpringSummer and Fall sports seasons.

Season Ending Tournaments

Throughout each season, athletes and Unified partners train and prepare for a variety of athletic competitions ranging from local community events up through season ending tournaments. Special Olympics Massachusetts offers six season ending tournaments: Winter Season: Winter Games, Spring Season: Summer Games, Summer Season: Tournament of Champions and Fall Season: State Soccer Cup, Flag Football and Cheerleading Championships, and Senior Sports Classic.

Beyond competitions and tournaments here in Massachusetts, Special Olympics sends delegations of athletes to the Special Olympics National Games, every four years and World Games, every two years.

    Select which sports interest you. Program placement depends on age, sport, hometown, existing team wait list, etc. Please note: Due to COVID 19, several sports have been modified to adapt to Special Olympics MA Return to Play Guidelines. Teams returned to practice on July 6th, in groups of no more than 10 individuals. At home activities are also being offered for those who are unable to attend practices. Upon submission of the interest form, we will get back to you with more specific information of opportunities in your area.

    Special Olympics Massachusetts does not provide transportation for athletes to and from practices. Depending on the team/sport, athletes will have practice at least once a week
