Meet Xtra Mile Falmouth Road Race Runner, Kevin Crossman!
Special Olympics Massachusetts’ own Kevin Crossman will also be joining the Xtra Mile team running for Special Olympics Massachusetts this Falmouth Road Race. Kevin has been involved with Special Olympics since he was in college, when he worked Saturday mornings at a program and fell in love with it.
“It means a lot to be able to work for an organization that you think so highly of. The disabled population is not provided as many opportunities as the able-bodied and if it weren’t for Special Olympics over 12,000 people with disabilities would not have this amazing opportunity to compete in sports year-round,” he said.
Although Kevin has run the Falmouth Road Race once before in 2016, this will be the first time he is running for Special Olympics.
“It’s a fun race with a great environment and if I can help out SOMA in the process, seemed like an easy decision!”
Kevin has been running for 5 years and trains almost year-round. He finds running therapeutic, so training for the Falmouth Road Race won’t be too much of a challenge for him. He has also had experiences with fundraising, so he knows how to both stay motivated for the race and continue to raise money for Special Olympics.
Good luck at the Falmouth Road Race Kevin!
