Boston Bruins Foundation

Since 2018, the Boston Bruins Foundation has pledged to support sports opportunities for athletes of all abilities alongside Special Olympics Massachusetts. The goal is to promote our organizations’ shared values of inclusion, instilling confidence, and health and wellness. The Boston Bruins continue to use their platform as a professional sports team with a passionate fan base to spread our mission through the game day experience and community activations.

The partnership, which was officially announced in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics Movement, represents one of the largest and most impactful relationships for Special Olympics Massachusetts. The Special Olympics community can support the partnership by volunteering at in-stadium 50/50 raffles throughout the season.

Each year Liberty Mutual provides critical funds to Special Olympics Programming throughout Massachusetts.

As a partner in programming as well as financial support, the New England PGA and the golf pros who make up the organization are of incredible importance to Special Olympics and the athletes they serve. Through the Annual Birdies 2 Benefit charity tournament, golf pros from across Massachusetts raise money to provide sport opportunities to all. Each fall, the NE PGA hosts a Drive, Pitch, Putt event for Special Olympics Athletes where golfers with intellectual disabilities are given the opportunity to show their skills on the course as well as gat some instruction for professionals.

The New England Revolution are more than a sponsor. Through a year-round partnership devoted to improving the soccer programming offered to athletes with intellectual disabilities while promoting inclusion through sports, the Revs are playing a large part in building awareness and support for the Special Olympics Mission in Massachusetts. The Marquee initiative of the partnership is the New England Revolution Unified Soccer Team which plays annually in the MLS Special Olympics Unified Exchange series with clubs from other MLS markets.
Additionally, the Revs in partnership with Arbella insurance host the Bowl for a Goal fundraiser which features unified bowling, bringing professional soccer players, sponsors and Special Olympics athletes together on the bowling alley. the event raised $120,000 in 2023.

Planned Lifetime Assistance Network of Massachusetts & Rhode Island is a proud supporter of Special Olympics Massachusetts.  As the exclusive Special Needs Trust partner, PLAN of MA & RI provides educational webinars and resources to help families with financial planning.  The partnership supports Special Olympics athletes in all counties of Massachusetts.

Yawkey Foundation

The Yawkey Foundation has been a partner to Special Olympics Massachusetts for decades, in fact, the state chapter's headquarters is names in the foundation's honor. The Yawkey Sports Training Center is home to athletic facilities, staff offices, multimedia conference space, and storage for sports and logistical equipment and supplies.

In 2022, the Yawkey Foundation announced a new $300,000 partnership with Special Olympics Massachusetts. The funds, received as a charitable grant, will allow Special Olympics Massachusetts to grow, expand, and ensure sustainability by building communities of inclusion throughout the commonwealth. It is the organization’s belief that if more individuals with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to engage with their peers without disabilities on the playing field, their connections will translate into social, professional, and community connections in everyday life.

The collaboration between 98.5 the Sports Hub and Special Olympics Massachusetts is instrumental in helping to raise funds, recruit volunteers and support all major programs, including the marquee event, Summer Games, held annually in Boston. The Sports Hub is the top rated sports radio station in the country and this partnership helps to highlight Special Olympics Massachusetts as a standout sports organization in a standout sports market like Boston.

The Station is tightly aligned with the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and New England Revolution who are all partners with Special Olympics to various capacities. The collaboration between the professional sports teams, the station and special olympics will only build awareness and support for the organization and the athletes right here in the commonwealth.
