Special Olympics Massachusetts and Xtra Mile are thrilled to have once again been selected to receive bibs as part of John Hancock’s 2019 Non-Profit Program for the Boston Marathon. Members of the Xtra Mile team commit to raising money for Special Olympics Massachusetts and representing the organization before and during the Marathon.
We are NOW Accepting Applications for our team! If you are interested in running on the Xtra Mile team and supporting the athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts, please fill out our online application to be considered for our Boston Marathon team.
The Special Olympics Massachusetts Boston Marathon team is presented by John Hancock. Each runner will be wearing a bib made possible through the John Hancock non-profit program. In 2017 John Hancock signed on as a Champion for 50 – celebrating 50 years of the Special Olympics movement.

Special Olympics Massachusetts is thrilled to announce that Xtra Mile will be participating in the Boston Run to Remember 2019 Charity Program! Be a part of the excitement and join us for this great race and new opportunity for the Xtra Mile team over Memorial Day weekend!
Xtra Mile will have bibs for the Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon Race as well as their 5 Mile Race.
As a member of the Xtra Mile you will receive:
- FREE Entry for the race (both half marathon and 5 mile!)
- Training and Fundraising Support
- Team Gear for race day and to train in
Xtra Mile members are also eligible to receive incentives if they go above and beyond the fundraising minimum!

The 4th annual LETR Glow in the Park 5k Fun Run for Special Olympics surpassed its fundraising goal and raised over $23,000 for the 12,500 athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts. Great job everyone and we hope to see you back in 2019!
Thank you to all the runners and walkers who came out on Saturday, October 20th for The Law Enforcement Torch Run Trick or Trot Trail Run at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA! Over a hundred runners and walkers came out for our Halloween-themed fun trail run and family festival and raised over $11,300 to support local Special Olympics athletes!

So grab those fun holiday-themed outfits, your jingle bells, Santa hats, tutus, ugly sweaters, and lace up those sneakers for this year’s Holiday Sweater Fun Run! We are welcoming the 13th annual Boston Jolly Jaunt presented by the New Balance Foundation. This year, grab your holiday racing gear and head to the Boston Common on Saturday, December 1st to raise $150,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts!

Last year we raised over $31,000 to support over 1,000 Special Olympics Massachusetts athletes on Cape Code and over 12,500 athletes across the state of Massachusetts! Our goal is $35,000 this year – we can do it!
