2018 Boston Marathon Team

The Special Olympics Massachusetts 2018 Xtra Mile Boston Marathon Team is full! Thank you to everyone who applied and who support our team!

The Special Olympics Massachusetts Boston Marathon team is presented by John Hancock. Each runner will be wearing a bib made possible through the John Hancock non-profit program. In 2017 John Hancock signed on as a Champion for 50 – celebrating 50 years of the Special Olympics movement – awarding 25 bibs to Special Olympics Massachusetts fundraisers. Our 25 person team will help to raise money that will contribute to our programs and mission to serve over 12,200 athletes we have in Massachusetts!

2018 Falmouth Road Race Team

Be a part of one of the most premier non marathon races in the country while supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts athletes as a member of the 2018 Xtra Mile Falmouth Team!

2018 Boston Run to Remember

Special Olympics Massachusetts is thrilled to announce that Xtra Mile will be participating in the Boston Run to Remember 2018 Charity Program! Be a part of the excitement and join us for this great race and new opportunity for the Xtra Mile team over Memorial Day weekend!

Xtra Mile will have bibs for the Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon Race as well as their 5 Mile Race.

As a member of the Xtra Mile you will receive:

  • FREE Entry for the race (both half marathon and 5 mile!)
  • Training and Fundraising Support
  • Team Gear for race day and to train in

Xtra Mile members are also eligible to receive incentives if they go above and beyond the fundraising minimum!

MAY 2018: Glow in the Park 5k - North Attleboro, MA

Light up the Night on a Saturday in May (Date TBD) for the 4th annual Glow in the Park 5k Fun Run for Special Olympics! Start and finish line will be at Barrett’s Alehouse in North Attleboro.

OCTOBER 21: Trick or Trot - Westfield, MA

The Law Enforcement Torch Run  Trick or Trot Trail Run is back at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA!

Join us on Saturday, October 21st for this Halloween-themed fun trail run and family festival to support local Special Olympics athletes. Please note that this is an unofficial race and is not professionally timed.


Post-race festivities will include a BBQ lunch, awards in race as well as costume categories, a K-9 demonstration, and more! Bring your family to the race and experience the first annual Trunk or Treat – a Halloween “trick or treat” hosted by local Law Enforcement officials!

NOVEMBER 19: Holiday Sweater Run - Lee, MA

Join the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics MA for the annual 2016 Holiday Sweater Run in Lee, MA.

On Sunday, November 19th we’ll be kicking off the holiday season in the most fun way possible – throwing on our favorite “seasonal” sweaters and running to support the athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts!


DECEMBER 2: Boston Jolly Jaunt 5k

Thank you to all the runners and walkers who came out on Saturday, December 2nd to take part in our annual Boston Jolly Jaunt!! We had over 1000 runners and walkers from all over Massachusetts on the Boston Common to take part in the 12th annual Boston Jolly Jaunt, presented by the New Balance Foundation. Happy Holidays and thank you for kicking off your holiday season with Special Olympics Massachusetts by helping to support our incredible athletes!

Need a Christmas Tree?! Right now when you purchase a tree or wreath at Brooksies Fresh Christmas Trees and Wreaths in South Boston, $5 of your purchase will go to support Special Olympics Massachusetts this December! In order to take part in this wonderful opportunity you will need to show Brooksies the tree donation flyer at the time of purchase. DECEMBER 3: Hyannis Jolly Jaunt 5k

On Sunday, December 3, 2017, runners and walkers from all over Massachusetts will gather at the Hyannis Resort & Conference Center to take part in the annual Hyannis Jolly Jaunt. This professionally timed 5k course has a fun holiday theme with prizes for best costume and jingle bells for each runner.

Our Hyannis Jolly Jaunt aims to raise $50,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts! By signing up, you’re not only getting to be part of this exciting event, but you’re also giving back to the nearly 12,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities that Special Olympics supports.

DECEMBER 3: Holiday Torch Run – Peabody, MA

Get in the holiday spirit with Special Olympics Massachusetts by participating in the Peabody Holiday Torch Run on Sunday, December 3rd!

Registration is Open!

Join us to run or walk and help raise money benefiting local Special Olympics athletes. This is an officially sanctioned and timed 5k, so you can come for some fun or come to compete! Bring your friends and family, walk, run and dress for the occasion! Don’t forget to enter our costume contest on race morning near registration!
