Heart of a Winner Nomintation

Heart of a Winner

Since 1988, the “Heart of a Winner” award has been presented at the Cape & Islands Track and Field Qualifying Tournament at Barnstable High School to a Greater Cape & Islands Athlete who tries his or her best in everything they undertake. This award is given in memory of Kris Rogers, a Greater Cape and Islands Athlete who passed away in 1986 at the age of 21. Kris had to face many obstacles during his lifetime, but thanks to his wonderful outlook and supportive family, his memory continues to live on. Nominated athletes should exemplify: tenacity, sportsmanship, teamwork, courage and all other elements of the Special Olympics Mission Statement and Athlete Code of Conduct. One of the only Outstanding Athletes awards in the State, and the longest running Award, please consider nominating at least 1 athlete for this wonderful honor. A selection committee will choose the final winner. Submit all applications below by Wednesday, May 10th.
