Celebrating Health and Wellness: Beth Donahue Named Point32 ‘Healthy Hero’

November 18, 2025

Point32Health’s commitment to wellness lies at the core of its partnership with Special Olympics Massachusetts. Point32Health and Tufts Health Plan strive not to just support athletes, but to actively recognize and empower those who embody the values of physical wellbeing and leadership. This dedication came to life once again this year with the presentation of the third Healthy Hero Award for 2025. This award was created to shine a spotlight on athletes who go above and beyond in promoting health in their own lives and the lives of others.

Latest recipient, Beth Donahue, has spent 20 years with Special Olympics Massachusetts, embracing the mission to “try new things and challenge myself whenever I can.” A multi-sport athlete competing in soccer, skiing, track and field, and softball, Beth brings energy and enthusiasm to everything she does. But her commitment doesn't stop at competition; she is also deeply invested in sharing her love of movement with others through leading Zumba and fitness sessions at Special Olympics Massachusetts events. She even leads pre-race stretches at the annual Boston Jolly Jaunt and Boston 5K, getting everyone ready to hit the ground running.

Her dedication to athlete health made Beth a natural choice for the Healthy Hero Award. Beth received the award during a 2025 Point32Health lunch and learn, surrounded by family and fellow athletes. As Point32Health continues to champion inclusive health and wellbeing, the recognition of athletes like Beth underscores its commitment to empowering people with intellectual disabilities to access impactful health and wellness opportunities.
